Major Projects

My goal is to become the most effective executive I can be by gaining knowledge that is crucial for making smart decisions and ensuring accountability, developing practical skills to get things done and focus on opportunities, and mapping my own personality, strengths, weaknesses, values, attitudes, and expertise to ensure adaptability to the demands of the future. I am very fortunate to have developed natural talent, charisma, and passion for learning and business management. However, I do understand that there isn’t one thing that determines who becomes the best leader. I would like to have the competitive advantage through the recalibration of my approach to work culture, leadership practices, and engaging productivity through continuous learning and development.

I have learned a lot through life experiences, and I love learning. I take pride in a job well done and I constantly seek challenges that require critical and creative approaches. I have a strong desire and drive to achieve more. I hope to discover my authentic leadership self. I am dedicated to achieving my long-term goals and to be empowered to lead any project, organisation, and endeavours.

Takoradi Port Development

The Container and Multi-Purpose Terminal will cover 61 hectares of land inside the Takoradi Port for handling, storage and delivery of containers and cargo including Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo), General Cargo, Offshore Supply Cargo and Agricultural products such as cocoa, grains, nuts, and wheat.  It includes the development of an access channel and turning basin of -17.0m deep, two -16m deep berths of 795m long, three -14m deep berths of 900m, as well as road and rail connections.

Port infrastructure and equipment are consistently exposed to both severe natural conditions and heavy loading from commercial activities. This can lead to a high amount of deterioration of facilities and lower lifespan for equipment and machineries. My responsibility is to provide appropriate and systematic maintenance and repair to continuously satisfy high performance requirements. The maintenance programme will include a series of inspections, investigations, procedures, methods, tools, timings, frequencies, evaluations, and repair work through the application of suitable maintenance strategies. I focus on the following key areas:

the way equipment works

the way people work

the cost of maintenance

My team will manage and control the day-to-day activities and ensure that the maintenance programme for facilities and equipment are properly planned, implemented, and accomplished according to company policies and budget. Equipment required for operations should be available and reliable to achieve the highest possible standards.

Jacking, Skidding and Positioning

This is an essential part of heavy lift engineering for a wide variety of projects especially in the energy sector.

Jacking and skidding reduces cost and saves time. It is safer compared to crane lifts in specific situations. I worked with government agencies such as GRIDCO and VRA as well as other organisations. Offering these services increases the revenue for companies.

I started the Jacking and Skidding for most of the companies I worked with. I set-up the equipment, procedures and processes including training key team members to become specialists in this area. Each project site is different and can present its own unique challenges which makes every operation exciting and a learning opportunity.

Windmill

The largest power generating logistics project in East Africa in 2014.

38 Windmills from the Port of Mombasa to Kinangop site near Naivasha

269 out-of-gauge components + 4,000 m3 of accessories

550 km from Mombasa Port

Tonnage: from 6.2 tonnes (blades) – 58 tonnes (bottom section)

As the Regional Fleet and Equipment Manager, I led the transport operations, loading and off-loading and maintenance of all related equipment. I worked closely with the EPC contractor and managed more than 40 staff members. We successfully completed the project with no breakdowns or damages.

Transformers

Governments and organisations are constantly upgrading or establishing new sub-stations.

I have transported transformers across Africa using hydraulic platform trailers and specialized low beds. My latest project involved moving a 150mt transformer on a 4-line - spinedeck - 4-line hydraulic platform trailer for a new sub-station in Ghana.

Port and Vessel Operations

Specialized Transport and Heavy Lifting

Steam turbine (almost 300 ton) transport using a 16-line hydraulic platform trailer

Bespoke end-to-end solutions for oversized and heavy cargo including unique transportation.

I have transported cement mills, modules, risers, Christmas tree (oil well), drilling rigs, mudmats, locomotives, cranes, umbilical reels and other heavy lift cargo.

As the Chief Heavy Lift Engineer, I prepare route surveys, project engineering, lift plans, drawings, equipment selection, transport execution, project execution etc. I also train and mentor drivers, riggers, crane operators, supervisors, maintenance staff etc.

Oil and Gas Services

Partnerships with various sectors such as the oil & gas and mining industry through unique transport and heavy lift engineering.

I work closely with base managers and their head office in order to guarantee that the operations are safe and completed based on their emerging needs and current projects. I provide specific transport and lifting solutions for mining units and oil & gas equipment.

Crane Operations

Successful operations depend on effective teamwork, planning all aspects of the lift and following high safety standards.

Crane operations happen on a daily basis and for various clients. I am in charge of all the forklifts and cranes including equipment procurement, lift plans, maintenance and daily operations.
